My Wife Jen and I

Thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Jonathan Register, and I live in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia with my beautiful wife Jen, and with my furry daughter Mackenzie. I created this blog  because I wanted to create an invaluable resource for anyone in the network marketing industry (aka multi-level marketing) or for anyone seeking to start their own home based business. I have the goal for this blog to become a central hub filled with real, no BS, tips and strategies on how to grow your network marketing business so that you are making money as soon as possible.

So a little background on me…

Since a very young age I have ALWAYS known that I wanted to become an entrepreneur and to not have someone else control my destiny or my income. I can remember when I was in elementary school dreaming of becoming a business tycoon. The whole “business world” really intrigued me and I always imagined myself as being the next Donald Trump. :-)

I got my very first job when I was 14 years old as soon as I was legally able to get a job so I could make some money. I got a job as a dishwasher at a local seafood restaurant. I learned very quickly that with hard work and dedication it’s very easy to stand out from the crowd and to move up the ladder.

I also quickly noticed the financial freedom that the owners of the restaurant had as a result of their successful business. Seeing the financial freedom they had re-affirmed my decision and dream to one day become an entrepreneur.

I ended up working at that restaurant for about 6 or 7 years until I graduated high school. I could practically do every single job in that restaurant and do it well. I also had that seafood smell ingrained in my blood!

Fast forward to the fall of 2006…

I just graduated college with a B.S.B.A degree in Finance with a Real Estate emphasis, and I had gotten a job with a very large commercial real estate company. I was working on a team of brokers and we helped private investors to purchase and sell income producing properties (apartments, office buildings, industrial buildings, etc.).

My responsibility on the team was to help market the properties through websites, marketing materials, email marketing, etc. as well as to help create cash flow models for them (that means to basically figure out what the value of the property is based on the income it’s producing). I pretty much sat at a desk all day long and I yearned for so much more!

I was making a flat salary and I had no control of my income. I saw the brokers around me making $200,000 plus per year. I had some very big ambitions and I wanted to become a broker ASAP so I could make my first million.

Then  in 2007-2008 the economy and real estate market tanked. Things went from going up and up with no end in sight to a downward spiral. Things started getting very tight at my company (people were getting laid off left and right), so my dreams of becoming a broker anytime soon were dashed.

The dream of taking control of my destiny and my income was still alive and well despite everything going on. I got so sick and tired of sitting at my desk all day long doing things to help make other people rich, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. The economy was really, really bad, but I decided it was a great time to become an entrepreneur! :-)

So during every free second I had, I worked to start a business while I was working full time at the real estate company. Eventually, as I started to make money I convinced my wife that I should quit and do something that would allow me to make commissions (so I could control my income) while at the same time allowing me to work more on the business.

I then quit my job with the real estate company and I bounced around at a few part time commission only jobs. I kept working my business and I grew it enough so that so that my wife and I could “get by” and pay the bills  with her income and my very, very small income from the business (about $800 to $1,000 a month).

While running the business I ended up joining a network marketing company in January 2010 to try to earn a little extra cash while getting myself fit and healthy.  I was very skeptical about everything, but I saw my sponsor making over $100,000 per year (after only being a part of the network for about a year), so I knew that if he could do it, then there is no reason why I couldn’t either.

I kept working my MLM business part time and then in about May of 2010 I sold the business that I originally started when I was working at the real estate company. About the same time I was having a good amount of success with my MLM business so I decided to go full time.

I have been full time with my MLM business ever since, and I truly believe in the MLM business model. I don’t see myself ever doing anything else. I was initially skeptical like a lot of people when they first start, but I quickly found that it’s a legitimate business model that truly works.

The network marketing industry provides an incredible opportunity for ANYONE who has the drive and motivation to make a lot of money to do so. This blog is dedicated to YOU, a fellow network marketer and it’s my mission to see that everyone who comes into network marketing who wants to succeed, and is willing to do what it takes to succeed, does so!
